Honda Thailand To Suspend Production From April 18

Honda Automobile (Thailand) has announced a temporary suspension of production at its two Thai assembly plants, which together produce 240,000 passenger vehicle units, from April 18, without specifying when the two production lines can start running again. The production and deliveries of all models—including the Accord, Civic, City, Freed, Jazz, CR-V and the latest Brio—in the Thai lineup will be affected as a result.
This is despite the fact that all Honda plants in Japan, including those responsible for producing parts and components for export to Honda plants outside Japan, had resumed production on April 11. The limited availability of parts from approximately 110 suppliers affected by the earthquake means that production levels has been capped at 50 percent of the pre-crisis level.
