2012 Peugeot 308-Based C-Segment Sedan To Arrive In Malaysia Next April

The all-new Peugeot C-segment sedan, codenamed T73, will be launched in Malaysia in April 2012, Nasim CEO Datuk Samson Anand George has confirmed to the media. That launch date—which follows the start of production this year-end at the Naza Automotive Manufacturing (NAM) plant in Gurun, Kedah—is of course one year later than the second quarter 2011 time frame previously announced by Nasim.

The 308-based Peugeot sedan will take on local favourites like the Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla Altis upon arrival. Nasim has set the production target at 60,000 units over a five-year period from 2012 to 2016, with 60 percent of that figure earmarked for export to right-hand-drive car markets in ASEAN and Africa, as well as Australia and New Zealand.
