Geneva Motor Show: 2012 Volkswagen Golf Mk6 Cabriolet
sponsored links
The all-new Volkswagen Golf Mk6 Cabriolet has made its official debut at the Geneva Motor Show, marking the return of the drop-top Golf since the previous Golf Mk3 Cabriolet ended sales in 2002.
While the familiar Golf face is retained, the rest of the Golf Mk6 Cabriolet appears cohesive thanks to a more steeply-raked windscreen and a lower roofline. The LED tail-lights, grafted over from the Golf GTI, contribute to a more interesting rear end.
The electro-hydraulic-powered folding fabric roof takes a quick 9.5 seconds to open or close, and can be operated on the move up to a maximum speed of 30 km/h. A decent boot capacity of 250 litres is available even when the roof is stored.
The Golf Mk6 Cabriolet will enter European showrooms in the second quarter of 2011, sharing an identical range of engines as its hatchback sibling. Positioned below the Eos, this topless Golf should arrive on Malaysian shores sometime this year. Read more on the 2012 Volkswagen Golf Mk6 Cabriolet.
