2011 Mazda 3 CKD Officially Launched In Malaysia

Bermaz Motor, the official distributor for the Mazda brand in Malaysia, has launched the Mazda3 CKD (completely-knocked-down) version, or locally-assembled version, in both sedan and hatchback body styles. Assembled at Inokom's plant in Kulim, Kedah, with an annual production target of 3000 units, the Mazda3 CKD saves you between RM 5725 and RM 11875.

The 1.6 sedan now costs RM 99,374 (ex-price RM 111,249, saves RM 11875), the 1.6 hatchback at RM 104,653 (RM 116,203, saves RM 11550), the 2.0 sedan at RM 119,374.50 (RM 131,249, saves RM 11875), and the 2.0 hatchback at RM 130,274.50 (RM 135,999, saves RM 5725). Prices exclude insurance, and are valid for solid colours.

The 1.6-litre MZR engine, with 103 hp at 6000 rpm and 144 Nm at 4000 rpm, is paired to a four-speed automatic gearbox. The 2.0-litre MZR engine, capable of generating 145 hp at 6500 rpm and 182 Nm at 4500 rpm, is mated to a five-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters. The front-wheel-drive chassis consists of MacPherson strut as the front suspension and multi-link at the rear.

The Mazda3 1.6 sedan and hatchback have the following as standard: alloy wheels, front fog lamps, 4-speaker audio system with CD-player and MP3/WMA compatibility, comprehensive braking controls (ABS, EBD & BA) and dual front airbags. The 2.0 sedan and hatchback add equipment like bi-xenon auto-leveling headlamps, automatic wipers, leather steering wheel, cruise control, automatic dual-zone climate control, 6-disc CD-changer, two extra speakers, and side/curtain airbags.

The range-topping 2.0 hatchback is the only variant to get full leather seats and touch-screen audio/navigation system—equipments that are optional for the three other variants. Compared with before, the exterior colour selection has been reduced, now limited to four—Aluminium Metallic, Gunmetal Blue Mica, Black Mica and Arctic White.
