2012 All-New Honda Civic Spy Shots

The 2012 all-new, ninth-generation Honda Civic has been spied undisguised, reportedly in Suzaka, Japan, on top of a car carrier trailer, awaiting delivery to the U.S.. Published by Notícias Automotivas, the spy shots reveal a car that looks identical to the Honda Civic Concept recently unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show, except for a mildly redesigned front grille and clear headlamps without the smoked effect.

Honda apparently decided that evolving the current Civic's styling is good enough for the mid-size Honda sedan to remain popular when it arrives in the U.S. sometime in the second quarter of this year. For the U.S. market at least, the 2012 Civic will be launched with “the widest array of engine choices available in its class”. The Civic Hybrid will follow with a launch next year, featuring a lithium-ion battery pack in the hybrid powertrain for the first time ever.
