Lexus Malaysia Issues Recall For 78 Units Of Lexus IS250

Lexus Malaysia, the division of UMW Toyota Motor that distributes Lexus cars in Malaysia, has announced a Special Service Campaign, or recall if you prefer, for 78 units of the Lexus IS 250, all of which were manufactured between August 2007 and February 2009.
The IS 250 is being recalled to address an improperly-installed fuel pressure sensor that requires tightening. Without rectification, the pressure sensor could become loose over time due to engine vibration, causing fuel leakage via a gasket in between the sensor and delivery pipe.
Lexus Malaysia will tighten the fuel pressure sensor and, if a fuel leakage has occurred, the gasket will also be replaced. The inspection and repair are of course to be carried out free of charge. No estimate of the time needed for the entire procedure is given.
Lexus Malaysia is said to be in the process of contacting all 78 IS 250 owners and will be calling them in for the repair once the parts become available. No other Lexus models or any Toyota models, sold through local official distributors, are involved in the latest round of recall which is affecting 1.7 million vehicle units worldwide, with almost 1.3 million in Japan alone.
